Yes more music in 2010 at the Cockatoo Cafe

This time we host Jane Thompson, James Rigby and The Rainmakers on Saturday October 2nd. No strangers to the folk music scene, you might remember Jane and James from Blackwood, Vocal Nosh sessions, the Accafellas and since a long distance trip around Australia, their family band the Rainmakers.

The Rainmakers have been described as "An Australian family band with Elsie, and James Rigby, and Jane Thompson. Three glorious voices in exquisite harmony, they sing provocative and endearing songs: original compositions which bringing their landscape , issues and environment vividly to life; world music repertoire; a rich mixture of accapella arrangements to songs accompanied by guitar, fiddle, ukulele and maracas. Bringing the warmth of the Australian sun, wry humour and not one drop of rain to the stage." In the words of song writer Enda Kenny:Everything they touch turns to gold.

Again we are serving a three course menu with a vegetarian option. The price is $40 for the meal which now includes coffee and corkage for BYO, and $15 for the musicians (Total of $55).
